Registration Process

All EMA countries are allocated a number of seats according to the EMA quota: http://mahjong-europe.org/ranking/quotas_MCR.html. The EMA representative for each country shall send a list of qualified players to contact@uppsalamahjong.se. The list shall include name, EMA number and email address for each player. In addition, 24 places will be allocated to specially invited players from the rest of the world. This will be administered by Wenlong Li from Mahjong International League (mahjong-mil.org).

*The payment can be made either for each individual player or a group of players, as long as it is clear which player(s) the payment is for.

Call for participants to MCR Referee Seminar on Thursday July 2nd, 09:00 - 16:00

  • Place: Norrlands Nation Fest & Konferens, Uppsala, Sweden

  • Teachers: Astrid Dubedout and Marion Hoarau

  • Registration: by email to contact@uppsalamahjong.se

  • Max number of participants: 30, with priority to the referees of the OEMC 2026, then first come, first served.

  • Cost: EUR 10 (for the lunch), free of charge for the referees of the OEMC 2026.

Teams competition

There will be a teams competition where each team consists of four players and their scores are accumulated. Ideally, team members should be from the same country as much as possible, but since not all countries have a multiple of 4 participants, there will be some mixed teams. Send your lists of team members to contact@uppsalamahjong.se, deadline for registration is May 31. Players who have not been added to a team will be added by the organizers.

Prizes

There will be prizes to the top-16 (~top-10%) individual players and a special prize for the European Champion (best EMA player), and prizes for the top-3 teams.

Organizing team

Uppsala Mahjong was founded in 2005 and has since then had regular local activities and several members are frequently participating in EMA tournaments all over Europe.

The club has had participants in 6 WMCs and 5 OEMCs and has hosted 9 MERS certified MCR tournaments (of which 7 were national championships), and 1 MERS certified national Riichi championship.
